"Sawmill 8.5.6 Global Profile Config"

Greetings,

I am just wondering if there is a way to set global profile configs, for example Log Filters, without having to set them for each new profile I make?

Any help with this is appreciated.

Hi-

Best we have is the create many profiles option which would setup a skeleton of what you want settings to be and then create profiles in a batch.

You could also duplicate an existing profile and then change the name and the log source? Will this work for you to get pretty close to what you want?

Thanks for the info David,

I am currently using the Pro license with 1 profile. Is it possible to use that 1 profile as a template profile inside the Sawmill app and then use the 'create many profile' function to produce profiles through the cmd shell or will I be limited by the 1-profile license?

Pretty sure you can use the profile as the template, and put the modidications into the create many profiles script that runs at the command prompt.
Take a look at the documentation here:

Within this documentation there's info on setting up the "first" profile, and then modifying the script, to create the "profiles"
