"Concurrent Stream number bigger than Unique client IPs"

LAST EDITED ON Apr-23-13 AT 05:42 AM (PDT)

Dear Sawmill team,

we have evaluated the Sawmill software product in February this year and are still in the process of strategic decisions if we are going to use your product for future logfile analysises.

In one test scenario, we tried to analyze a log file of a video livestream. The log file comes from a Wowza Media Server 3 and the stream is served through a Longtail JWPlayer V5. If we interpret this log file using Sawmill we find a strange occurency where the stated Concurrent stream number is higher than the actual number of Unique Client IP addresses for the time period where we do not have an explanation for it.

Therefore I would like to ask you if these numbers can be correct and what a possible explanation for this occurence might be. Please find a screenshot to the log file analysis under the follwing link:

Thanks in advance

Andre
