"Updated Log Format for IronPort appliances"

   Hello,

I guess if I did some reading, I'd find the answer I'm looking for, but it's 4:45am, I'm tired, lazy as a rule, and looking for easy answers.

I have an IronPort customer who's using Sawmill in their environment, and since I upgraded their box, the format of the new logs are no longer compatible with Sawmill.

So, I have ~10Mb (compressed) worth of our new log format, and am looking for somewhere to put it. No. Not there. Preferably an FTP server, considering that with SA bandwidth, emailing a file this large would make my network laugh, and then fall over. Which is more trouble than I can be bothered to take.

If a lady or gent from Sawmill (maybe a bit of both, I don't stand in judgement) would like to drop this lazy engineer an email, I'll happily send on my logs so that the plugin for my magnificent appliance may be suitably adjusted in order that my customer may report till their hearts content via their favourite application for said purpose.

I eagerly await a response. Until such time, I am off in search of caffine, and god willing, a shot of adrenline to the heart to blow off the cobwebs.

Hi-

If you'd like us to update the plug-in. Please send support an email at the email address below, and you can include the details of an FTP site where you'd like us to "pull" the logs from. Alternatively we can provide you with an FTP site where you can send us your logs, or we have an HTTP upload site where you can use a web browser to send the file.

As a note, Sawmill will read compressed data, but will not read "TAR" files directly. You can send us a tar.gz file and we can unpack that no problem on our end.

Please let me know what Ironport device you are attempting to analyze, and also what version of Sawmill you are using, Sawmill 7? Sawmill 8? or Sawmill for Ironport?
