"GeoISP data from W3C Web Server Log Format"

   Hi,

I am trialing Sawmill Enterprise 8.1.5.

I am analysing W3C streaming logs from Akamai, using Log data format: W3C Web Server Log Format

I have purchased a GeoISP database from Maxmind.

I can't work out how to enable GeoISP (or any Geo) stats in the reports. How can I do this?

Thanks
Steve

Hi-

You should be able to drop the MaxMind database into the Sawmill install directory. Is this not working for you?

See the FAQ below for more info:

   Hi,

I have placed the new database file (GeoISP) in the correct location (but I don't believe this is the issue)

The problem is that when I process the logs as "W3C Web Server Log" I don't have an ISP report option listed.

However if I process the logs as "Flash Media Server" I get an ISP option (which works after a fashion, I do get ISP names etc) report under Client reports.

How do I get an ISP report when processing the logs as "W3C Web Server Log"?

Thanks
Steve

Hi-

I would expect that you'd get this report as long as your log data contains the c-ip field. And, I'm pretty sure you need to rename the database to the standard name Sawmill expects.

If you'd like us to look at what's going on with the log format plug-in and your data, send in a sample of log data (as compressed zip file) and from there we can take a look.
