"Windows Event Log Format"

   Hi

I'm trying to get Sawmill to analise the Windows Event Log. I've tried exporting the Event Log as a csv and a text file, but can't get sawmill to recognise it. What am I doing wrong? What is the procedure for I retrieving a file from the Windows Event Log that sawmill can read?

Thanks

Sawmill *should* be able to handle the CSV exported event logs. If it's not working, please email me your log data as an attachment and we'll fix whatever the problems it.

I too am having a similar problem. I've tried dumping the security logs via the ResKit utilities elogdmp and dumpel as well as exporting as a csv file. None are recognized.

I met the same problem. Both .evt and .txt format which is exported by windows resource kit tools--dumpel cannot be recognized by sawmill. But my event log is not english but chinese characters. Does it support other languange in log file?

thanks,
ma weiyan

Everyone with this problem, please email me and attach a sample of your log data. There appear to be several variants of csv export, and we're working to support all of them.
