"Save log source information"
| |
Hello, there's quite often the need to rebuild the database. I will ususally rebuild the history from a local folder on my HD, while the recent updates are retrieved by FTP from the server.I would like to see my FTP login data stored as well as the path to my local drive so I don't need to retype it everytime I switch between these log sources. Regards ....Lothar Buettner |

Hi Greg, there is a 6 weeks of current logdata on my server (ftp-access) and the history is on my computers HD. The data overlaps a few weeks. If I need to rebuild my database from the history, ftp-settings get lost. When I enter the ftp-data and path the local HD settings are lost. Lothar |

We're considering adding a "disabled" checkbox to log filters, scheduled items, views, subviews, and perhaps other items in version 7. It sounds like this might work here too-- you could have to log sources, but one them would be disabled. When you wanted to switch from local log data to FTP data, you could just check "disabled" for the local log source, and uncheck "disabled" for the FTP log source. Switching back, you'd do it the other way. Would that work for you?
