"Sawmill V8 timeleine"
 
   Hi,

Where we are on Sawmill V8 release? We are exploring the use of Sawmill as log analyzer for multiple apps in the organization. It looks like Oracle / SQL Server will be supported starting from version 8?

As per the previous threads it looks like Alpha is already released and Sawmill team is shooting for the final release in September

Can I request you to provide the latest status on this?

Hi, we are on the heels of a beta release. Alpha testing is still ongoing.

   Thanks Dave, will it be possible for you to give a tentative date of production release?

BTW, it looks like we have to go with MySQL for now and migrate to Oracle when V8 is released. Does Sawmill have any plan to support MySQL to Oracle migration if an existing customer decides to do so?

Hi-

The production release date has not been announced.

The migration from MySQL to Oracle should be possible using some of the command line features of Sawmill to export the existing MySQL Database in Sawmill V8 and change the database type to Oracle, and re-import the data.

Alpha testing is wrapping up and we are very close to beta. I expect Beta no later than the next two week if all goes well.
