Users

The first time you run Sawmill through a web browser, it will prompt you to choose a root administrator username and password. This information, which is stored in the users.cfg file in the LogAnalysisInfo directory, specifies the first user. After that, you can create additional users by clicking on the Users menu and by selecting New User.

Within the new user menu, you name the user, add a password and select the language. You can also select which profile and role a particular user should have.

The root administrator must be logged in to perform any tasks where security is an issue (for instance, when specifying which log data to process, or when creating a profile). If you forget the root administrator username or password, you can reset it by removing the users.cfg file, found in the LogAnalysisInfo directory.
